don't count on it... it is very hard to do so. Our government is really mean!
2 :
get a work visa, maybe they will let you come and work a while..
3 :
First, you need to learn better English in order to make money in U.S. Secondly go to the link below.
4 :
Chao em; It is becoming more and more difficult for Viets to come to the U.S. The U.S. Immigration is closing many of the opportunities to legally immigrate here from Vietnam. My fiancee' will have to wait over a year before I can take her home, and I'm a natural born American that just wants to live with my wife. Your best opportunity is trying to obtain a work visa. Find an American company to work for, do well with them and see if they will transfer you to a U.S. office. You will see many more U.S. businesses opening in Vietnam very soon. The U.S. is a great country, but Vietnam can be just as good if not better for you. It is VERY expensive to live in the U.S. compared to Vietnam. Americans are not as nice in this country as Viets are in your own country. There are many more opportunities, but you may find it more difficult to live here than in Vietnam. Vietnam is rapidly improving, and the hardships that you have experienced will be a thing of the past soon. You will soon see good paying jobs and more freedoms as we do in the U.S. Xin Chao...

Oh geez. I don't believe thats possible, but someone may know. If you are american and lose it there then you can get it back (in time; maybe) and the vietnam passport i'm not exactly sure; try to contact someone in vietnam or ask your traveling agent.
2 :
Have you tried to contact the Vietnamese Embassy in Washington? They would be able to issue a new one.
3 :
If you are a Viet Nam passport holder in this country (US), then contact your embassy in Washington DC, and find out what they have as requirements. They will not issue you a new passport, but will with documentation, issue a temperary permit to leave the country. Look at the web-site for the Vietnamese embassy in the US to get an idea. All cases are different and will be approached differently by your embassy. My wife is Vietnamese and we needed to get a new passport for my mother-in-law to return to Viet Nam after her VN passport expired. It required some talking and they of course need some "fees".
4 :
contact your Vietnamese consulate. you will need to have other documents to prove that you are you.
5 :
Yes, I follow the others - contact the embassy!

Check out this site!! evrything you asked and more: http://www.livinginvietnam.com/vietnam/currency.htm Good Luck :)

Sorry to inform you and mitzie, those prices are way out of date. For example, a litre of gasoline now costs 14,800 d, a bowl of pho (in the country-side) is 12,000 and up. A glass of iced coffee is 5,000 in the country and 10,000 in Saigon (18,000 and up in district 1, tourist traps). The prices of EVERYTHING has risen 40% in the last year alone and rents in Saigon are ridiculously expensive. ($1000 USD and up) Fruit and vegetables are still relatively cheap, although rice has doubled in the last year to 8000/kg and meat is now more expensive here than in the US (80,000/kg for pork, 35,000/kg for chicken etc). I live in the Mekong Delta so these prices may not be the same in the rest of the country.

You can find it here maybe: http://courses.evietnamese.net/

Finding such a friend maybe easier than you think. Most of the younger generation Vietnamese (born after the war) have been taught English, and would love to make friends with Americans. An easy way to find them is to use Yahoo. Yahoo is the most widely used Internet service in Vietnam. Most everyone there has a Yahoo E-mail account and regularly use Yahoo Messenger to chat. Go into a member search on Yahoo ( http://members.yahoo.com )for people in Vietnam. Good luck
