Of course you can... but a couple of things to check: 1. Does your current number supports international IDD sms? 2. What are the charges? Both of the above can be answered by your line service provider. Just dial their hotline...
5 :
you can do that online for free through yahoo mail beta!

Yes they can. But they'll just wait until this person gets back, they already know they're in Vietnam. But the longer this person stays in Vietnam, the worse trouble they will be in when they get back to the USA.
2 :
It depends on how badly the courts want him back. If the guy is nothing more than a common criminal we may simply decide that he is Vietnam's problem and arrest him at customs if he ever tries to return.

My grandparents made bowls and plates to sell. My parents, aunts and uncles, when they go out on an excursion, buy food from street vendors where people basically sell food to make money. But, this is back then (when there was a communist north) so I don't know how much things have changed. But, I believe a lot of people are working in factories making clothing.

Wow! Now that's a man I would like to have met! He would have seen it all, a walking encyclopedia! I live in a small town here in Vietnam. I haven't seen a lot of really old people in the years I've been here. They seem to age very quickly whether its because of poor diet or hard work I'm not sure. My wife's grandparents are in their early 70s and look very frail and I was concerned for them until I saw my first rice harvest. They were in the fields with their workers toiling with the best of them. I was amazed by the transformation. Grandma's aunt visited from the States recently and she's in her 90s. As for being ''normal'' I really couldn't say. I don't think life expectancy here is much different to anywhere else, unless of course you ride a motorbike.

According to the World Bank, the average life expectancy for Vietnamese (living in Vietnam in 2009) is 74.2 years. There are some that live to be in the 90's and 100's like your grandparents but there are also those who die young as well...That's why, the AVERAGE is just over 74 years which is pretty good considering in 1975, it was only 53.6 years.

according to CIA World Factbook 2009: for women: 76.2 for men: 72 Vietnam holds the 65th position among 195. Considering the fact that Vietnam is a developing country, those are extremely high numbers. Its higher than China's life expectancy. Except for the developed countries like Singapore and Brunei, no other countries in Southeast Asia have higher life expectancy that Vietnam, though they are much richer such as Thailand or the Philippines. Vietnamese people have been heavily influenced by Buddhism and Taoism. Moreover, Vietnamese food is very healthy. They might be reasons for Vietnam's high life expectancy.
