You can be a flight attendant, but your probably gonna have to live in vietnam.

Well, just imagin you want to work for an American airline... You could do it in france, right? If you lived in france my guess is that you probobly could work on an american airliner, that goes from france to america. Working on a vietnamese airline would proboly be the same. I would imagin it being far more easy to live in vietnam, as your pay would be from the Vietnamese Airline. I would recoment you live in Vietnam, as it might be impossible for vietnam to pay you in america (they might refuse, since it might be a hassle for them).

Vietnam Airlines periodically posts advertisements in Vietnam News (the English language paper in VN) to recruit flight crew - they specify height, and other requirements. You might want to contact them directly - English language capabilities are useful. Air Asia and several other airlines serving Viet Nam have Vietnamese crew members - so contact any airlines that serves Ha Noi or HCMC. You might consider trying to get some training and experience with a smaller carrier in the US (or a bigger carrier, whichever is easier to get a job with) so that you approach VN Airlines as a trained flight crew member.

You may need Vietnamese citizenship or residency to work for them. You might also consider Cathay Pacific airlines, as they hire a lot of "speakers". Some of the US majors may be interested in you, such as the new Delta/Northwest, though hiring may be slow during the current gas crisis.
