Do you think a traditional vietnamese wife who came from vietnam to live in the states would wear high heels ?
My wife is from vietnam and she is so beautiful and she is traditional. I'm wondering if she will ever wear high heels ?? My friend's wife started wearing high heels after seeing everyone else wearing them, it took her 3 years to start wearing heels.

i see viet woman [in viet nam] wear "heels"...i'm guess it is something your lady has never done and for comfort reasons more than traditional reasons she is reluctant to learn/try

Many Vietnamese women wear high heels, even those from the countryside. But of course, there are some young ladies who do not feel comfortable with them. Hope your wife is not in the minority. By the way, may I ask you a question: what made you decide to marry a girl whom you even don't know if she can wear high heels. What else do you know about the woman you will live with except she's beautiful and traditional?

We have seen all sorts of style changes in many of the Vietnamese men and women with whom we socialize (we have 2 adult Vietnam-born, adopted children and they are married to Vietnamese.) When you say "traditional", do you mean country raised? City folk are MUCH different from the farm folk, just as are people here. If your wife is young, she will meet with more modern styles and individuals over time, see style on TV and generally adjust. If she is older, it is likely that she will remain in the familiar garb. It has been thus with all immigrants throughout our history.
